“Young Women’s Pathways to Leadership Trips”: This is a program in its third year which provides outdoor leadership training for at risk teenage girls, ages 12- 18. The program includes training in CPR, First Aid, physical fitness and wilderness survival.
Front Door Agency, serving Hillsborough County
“Transitional Housing Program”: The Front Door Agency provides a three-tiered approach to self-sufficiency giving homeless women shelter, education and the chance to gain skills to get back into the work force.
HAVEN, serving Rockingham and Strafford Counties
“Safe Kids Strong Teens” violence prevention program: HAVEN provides programs on domestic and sexual violence prevention to 48 cities and towns in the Southeast NH. The grant will allow 125 girls to participate in this program.
Merrimack County’s Conservation District, serving Merrimack County
“Building an International Farmer’s Market with Concord’s Refugee Women”: The purpose of this project is to work with refugee and New American families to plan for an “International Farmer’s Market” where refugee women can sell their products in culturally enriching outlets, while increasing financial independence and small business knowledge.
New Generation, serving Rockingham County
“Making a Difference, One Woman at a Time”: Fifty women will be supported with this funding to offset costs for shelter, transitional housing, case management, parenting education, life-skills training, and transportation and aftercare services to homeless pregnant women.
Seacoast Family Promise, serving Rockingham and Strafford Counties
“Empowering families with children”: Seacoast Family Promise empowers women experiencing homelessness with the tools and support necessary to take control of their lives, families, finances, education and employment.
Shelter from the Storm, serving Cheshire County
“Transitional Housing”: The organization provides transitional housing for homeless families in the Jaffrey and Rindge areas. They provide coaching in financial management, including a focus on savings. Each family is matched with a “Community Friend” who meets weekly with the families to provide encouragement and support.
TLC Family Resource Center, serving Sullivan County
“Home Visits, Parent Support and Education”: Parent educators, licensed nurses and counselors provide regular home visits for families at risk for child abuse and neglect, using the “Growing Great Kids” curriculum.
Turning Points Network (TPN) and Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention, serving Sullivan and Cheshire Counties
“Preventing Violence Against Women”: Two organizations are working together to design and implement a new approach to violence prevention. The new approach uses the “Green Dot” program, a successful approach used in other states to address root causes in the community.
Women’s Rural Entrepreneurial Network (WREN), serving Coos County
“NEST: Empowered Women; Strong Families”: NEST will help low-income head-of-household women stabilize finances, create a career/business path, improve household management, and foster family, personal health and wellbeing.
