Communications Manager
Job Description
The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation seeks a high-energy, independent problem-solver for Communications Manager. This role reports to and works closely with the CEO and program directors to oversee the creation and execution of NHWF’s external communications. This role is hybrid with Tuesdays and Thursdays in-person at our office in Concord.
Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Communications Manager will generate compelling content for and manage the day-to-day operations of all communications platforms including but not limited to the NHWF website, newsletters, marketing materials, social media and press releases. The Manager will be responsible for building, maintaining and executing the organizational communications calendar and for ensuring adherence to NHWF brand guidelines.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with a “can-do” attitude. They will be able to work independently and take initiative. The candidate should have outstanding relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups, including high-level supporters, while demonstrating poise, tact, integrity and professionalism. A sense of humor and a commitment to gender equity are essential.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure consistent messaging, branding, and visual identity
- Develop content (online, print, other) that best conveys NHWF key messages for newsletters, emails, and other materials as needed
- Develop and manage content to the organization’s current and future social media channels (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging networks).
- Manage and review content for organization’s WordPress website, update with fresh content on a regular basis
- Develop graphic design materials including visuals for emails, social media and print materials
- In collaboration with CEO and/or Program Directors, develop talking points/remarks for key events
- Track, measure and report effectiveness of communication programs and events.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, social/digital communications or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of working experience in Communications or Marketing—ideally in nonprofit, advocacy or campaign organizations. More than five years is a plus.

- Enthusiasm, positive attitude, and sense of humor
- Excellent oral and written communications skills (a writing sample may be requested)
- Graphic Design experience using platforms including Canva, InDesign or other Adobe products
- Website/WordPress experience with knowledge of the Elementor theme a plus

Program Assistant
Job Description
The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation seeks two high-energy, independent problem-solvers with can-do attitudes and willingness to learn new processes to assist with the day-to-day administration of the organization and office, as well as support Program Directors and the CEO. The Program Assistants are integral to the NHWF team and work collaboratively with the entire staff. The NHWF team is hybrid with time in-person at our office and some virtual work.
Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Program Assistants support the Program Staff and the CEO. They engage with donors, volunteers, grantees, and the general public. They support the office system and administration of the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation, while also assisting staff with programming needs, events and administrative tasks. Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy are key components of this role.

- Day-to-day office administration:
- Answer phone, email and mail communication; serve as key point of contact for the Foundation
- Scan and file documents
- Schedule meetings
- Maintain Foundation and Program calendars
- Assist with mailings, both in-house and large-scale mailings through an outside vendor
- Assist with office equipment and technology, as well as online software platforms
- Maintain Zoom accounts and assistance on virtual meetings
- NHWF Staff and Board Support:
- Work closely with Program Directors to support programming needs, including communications, events, applications, etc.
- Assist with intern application process and coordinate volunteers, as needed
- In-depth support at all our events; primary responsibilities include event registration, event check-in, event materials and organizing volunteers
- Support communication with NHWF Board of Directors and Board Committees through correspondence, scheduling, preparation of board meeting materials, and meeting minutes
- Operations (candidates with proven experience in this area may be eligible for additional compensation):
- Receive & enter bills, monitor due dates, etc.
- Work closely with the bookkeeper on accounts receivable/payable
- Maintain up-to-date insurance binders
- Manage and submit payroll
- Development and Database (candidates with proven experience in this area may be eligible for additional compensation):
- Process gifts and acknowledgments in a timely matter and communicate with donors as needed
- Maintain records in our CRM database (EveryAction), including donor records, gift entry, event attendees and general contact information, as well as best practices/education on the EveryAction software
- Create lists in EveryAction for donor acknowledgement, mailing lists, etc.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of work experience
- 2-5 years successful experience in office administrative setting at a nonprofit, advocacy or campaign organization is preferred. More than five years is a plus.

The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation seeks a thoughtful, analytical, self-motivated, problem-solver to join our team as our next Research Fellow. The Research Fellowship is a two-year full-time position (37.5 hours per week). This position collects, analyzes, and presents data for the Foundation’s flagship research publications, quarterly issue reports, and supports other team projects including policy efforts, grantmaking, and events.
This is an ideal position for recent graduate students and individuals with research training interested in using data to further gender equity in New Hampshire. Reporting to the Director of Policy, this is a full-time salaried position with benefits. NHWF works a hybrid schedule with a combination of telecommuting and in-person work at our office in Concord.
Position Overview
The Research Fellow is responsible for conducting data-driven research for the Foundation’s quarterly Gender Matters issue briefs and biennial Status of Women and Status of Girls reports, as well as providing research for other team project initiatives as needed.
Working closely with the Director of Policy, the Research Fellow areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Collect, compile, and analyze data using federal and state level sources
- Conduct extensive research on topic issues and research projects
- Generate initial visual representations of data for further publication design
- Support the drafting, editing, and publication of materials
- Present project findings to diverse communities and other stakeholders
- Provide research support for other team member projects
- Report to and work closely with the Director of Policy on other work related to the research, policy, and advocacy programs including tracking legislation, preparing testimony, and quantifying women’s elective representation at the state and local level.
- Assist with other activities that support the Women’s Foundation, as needed. The Women’s Foundation holds occasional events in the evenings and/or weekends.
Candidates may possess some of the following qualifications and skills:
- Master’s or PhD degree, or enrolled in a degree program, in Public Policy, Women and Gender Studies, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Education or related field. Candidates with a relevant bachelor’s degree and related research experience will be considered.
- Experience in research, data analysis, or presenting data.
- Quantitative research skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with STATA or other quantitative analysis software a bonus.
