Lucy Hodder

Lucy Hodder is a professor of law and the Director of Health Law and Policy Programs for the UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law. Prior to joining the law school she served as legal counsel to Governor Maggie Hassan (2013-2015) and practiced with the firm of Rath, Young and Pignatelli, including as Chair of its Health Law Group, for 15 years. While in private practice Lucy chaired the Gender Equality Committee of the New Hampshire Bar Association and served as a Director of the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association.

She was appointed to the Commission on the Status of Women by Governor Jeanne Shaheen in 1997 and served as its Chair from 2003-2005.  Following this role she joined the Board of the NH Women’s Policy Institute and helped shepherd its merger into the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation.

A graduate of Princeton University and Georgetown Law Center, Lucy moved to New Hampshire in 1993 and entered public service as an Assistant Attorney General with the NH Department of Justice.
