Become a Grant Reviewer
The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation relies on community members to assist in determining which organizations to fund during its grant review process. By having a wide pool of reviewers, representing a variety of perspectives and different parts of the state, we can bring our collective experience and insight to making strong decisions.
Between 25 and 30 people are generally involved with the grantmaking process, which relies heavily on robust group discussion to come to consensus about which organizations to fund. Grant reviewers typically meet for 3 – 4 hours, after having read all the proposals in front of them, discussing the pros and cons of each application. The group balances areas of interest, types of organizations and location in the state, as we strive to fund organizations in every county.
Starting in 2019, the process is focusing on three different priorities, with each group meeting on a different date (all meetings will be held in Concord). Each grant reviewer may participate in only one session:
- Economic Security: Wednesday, May 15 9 am – noon
- Health, Wellness, and Safety: Wednesday, May 29 9 am – noon
- Leadership, Education, and Empowerment: Wednesday, June 12 9 am – noon
If you would like to participate as a grant reviewer, please fill out this Grant Reviewer Profile Sheet to let us know about your background.
