Pathways to Prosperity Grant

We are proud to announce that this year’s Pathways to Prosperity Grant was awarded to the American Furniture Masters Institute to help them develop a furniture making program in the newly opened Women’s Correctional Facility in Concord. They currently offer this program in the men’s prison and this will help to bring the same skills and opportunities to incarcerated women, helping them to rebuild their lives, pursue more highly paid employment, and be less likely to re-offend in the future.

Space has already been set aside in the facility. Our support will help to purchase tools and provide teaching stipends for the all-women team of teachers.

SHE Change Grant

Thanks to their pioneering work and innovative programming, Girls at Work has been selected as the 2019 SHE Change winner.

By connecting girls with power tools and woodworking skills, Girls at Work empowers girls with the tools to overcome adversity and build confidence to face current and future life challenges. They have already served 15,000 NH girls in their 20-year history and are ready to expand services in 2020 to be able to serve almost twice the number of girls going forward.

The SHE Change award includes a $10,000 grant to Girls at Work. This funding is especially important now, as after almost 20 years, Girls at Work will double their workshop space in Manchester by partnering with FIRST, the national Science and Technology program for kids based in Manchester.
